The emotionally charged new single blends Salt Ashes's unique dark synth sounds with an infectious dance-pop beat produced by Luke Moseley, who produced the the rising singer-songwriter's previous single, "Go All Out".

Speaking of the track, Salt Ashes states: “Totally Faking is about the moments after losing my dad in an accident where I was made to feel like I had to cut my grieving short and get back to being an artist. I was told to fake it and put on a face and that life is hard but you gotta get on with it. I was too much of a wreck to stand up for myself in that moment and say you know what I can’t do this right now so ended up in a very dark and broken place where I wasn’t sure who I was anymore."
